    Re: Pharmacy Salaries

    Hi

What's the lowest possible salary for a newly qualified graduate working for an independent community pharmacist anyone has heard/accepted of in the north of UK? Is there a difference in pay scales between independents, independent multiples and corporates?

    Thanks!!!!

i dont know about pharmacist but as a training tech i personally found that the big multiples tend to pay a fixed rate no experience rate but the independants pay better and on experience im currently gettin the same rate as a qualified tech in a multiple as a training tech in an independant

Don't forget the differential in the cost of living.
A salary lower in the North might actually be more than a comparative SE region one given that you will have to travel and commute, pay more for accommodation etc.
Only good thing to me about living down south is that it is a shorter drive to the UK Exit points...
Where am I?; In the Pharmacy.
Who are you?; The new Number 2.
Who is number 1?; You are number 6.
    What do you want?;..................

Not if you live near the northern exit points. I would much rather live in Edinburgh than the UK southern penninsula, having experienced both.

    Re: Pharmacy Salaries

I started on £17k 15 years ago in Bradford at an independent. 3 months later I moved across town to get £25k from another independent. 2 years later I moved to the next town to get £40k from a multiple.

Seriously though it depends on the actual role, how busy, how many hours etc.
What is better to you, £28K for 200 items a day at 40 hours no weekends or £33k for 400 items at day for 45 hours a week including Saturdays.

Yes there is a world of difference in salaries, working conditions etc between companies large and small.

    ... Me too.
Humans aren't built to live life at that pace for very long.
