Hi
all depend on negotitations and work load(scripts, etc).
regular locum 25/hr full weekdays - no extras for minor ailment ,etc. MUR - get paid 10 pounds per mur.
The bonus is small and it is about 500-600 quid each year.
As a one off locum saturday's payment is roughly around 26-30/hr .If it is less than 6 hours - rate is 28-30/hr.sunday- 30 to 32.50 pounds/hr again depending on the hours.
i don't think it's worth to work as a FT locum anymore.
Some supermarkets are paying up to 59,000 /yr for46 hours contract with rpsgb fees paid and 5 weeks holidays. The OT is extra in some of them although restrictions are in place in tesco's and sainbury's on OT. In the 100 hour shops they have got no choice if no one else is available.

Reason: :)
They are all negotiable...but as eagleuk suggested, I would not work for low hourly rate if the pharmacy does in excess to 450 items every day. I have managed to negotiate £24.50 weekdays and £32 weekends.
I feel pharmacies should pay locums for MURs and minimum of £8 per MUR is respectable. I used to work as long term locum in Croydon for a small chain. I had agreed a rate of £25 an hour, but used to get paid £10 per MUR. There were no ,enhanced services provided. I negotiated 40% of enhanced services fee, i.e 40% of the fee contractor used to get from PCTs in addition to cost of the drug, say in EHC.
When I joined the pharmacy, they provided no services as locums simply couldn't be bothered. I was taken as long term locum with the agreement that I would start and provide enhanced services. By the time I had finished my contract, we had 4 enhanced services and revenue up by appreciable amounts.
I feel sharing profits with long term locums reaps benefits to contractors in the long run.
