Just been thinking, is the pay diff actually that much. You start off at band 6 post pre reg and that isnt great (24k) but at band 7, its 30-40k no? and what retail pharmacist will be making more than that bar a manager

so whats the real reason behind all these hospital vacancies
Our chief exec has just announced that savings need to be made which means job cuts at the nhs hospital where I work! I think if u move from a band 7 to a retail post the pay is similar but if you are a pharmacy manager then the pay is higher ( but similar to a band 8a post pay)
How long does it take to move into band 7 and even if you try to specialise, it's difficult no?
usually you get your band 7 job after having completed the diploma as a band 6..usually 2 years! band 7 is when you begin to specialise, but now many hospitals advertise rotational band 7 jobs, so you move between specialities every 6-9months..but some jobs may be advertising specialist band 7 jobs
