as band 7 there is no a, b or c etc. each year there are increments and the pay goes up within band 7..

google agenda for change pay scale and it lists it all there..and i'm sure pre regs in community pass the exam as well...the training days may better equip you, but you'll get no experience in how to manage or run a business in hospital

If you want to set up your own business then it would seem a good idea to work as much as possible in a similiar business before you do.
Most people who do their pre-reg in community pass the exam so there is no reason why you shouldn't.

Another little tip if you want to succeed in business is that you will have to to jobs you hate, paperwork of various kinds in my case. If you aren't prepared to do this then reconsider your goals.

If you do move into retail, avoid Boots. What pisses me off about that company is not only the heavy workload, low salary, very little support, it's the interference from dumbass uneducated no-GCSEs managers in the pharmacist's work. I once had a locum come into the store i was doing a summer placement in and tell some pencil-pusher from the office to get out of the dispensary, and that with 10 minutes of training a monkey can do their job (the admin personnel that is). Boots is the worst place to work as a pharmacist!!

" it's the interference from dumbass uneducated no-GCSEs managers in the pharmacist's work" again a cause of employed pharmacist (Managers) not taking command. The no-GCSE manager wouldn't dare to disrespect the dispensary process and the role of the pharmacist if the employed pharmacist (Manager) tell them where to go. They might be called "manager" but the pay points out who's the actual boss.
