The "three year rule" - when will it be abolished?
I have had a fantastic job opportunity in an independent pharmacy but after a while I realised that I cannot be a responsible pharmacist there because the premises have been registered with RPSGB for less than three years. I feel very disappointed now.
Has anything changed regarding the "three year rule" or is going to change and when? Would I be struck off the Register if I acted as a responsible pharmacist in this pharmacy?
Re: The "three year rule" - when will it be abolished?
As far as I know nothing has changed.. I doubt it will ever be...
But to put your mind in peace the RPSGB do not agree with this rule either so how can they strike you off?
Re: The "three year rule" - when will it be abolished?
I have just been informed by my potential employer that they had contacted RPSGB and had been told that this regulation would not change in the foreseeable future. Therefore, they are not able to offer a position.
I really don't understand it - on the one hand, RPSGB urges the DoH to change the rule, on the other hand - it will take legal action against both the pharmacist and the employer who breach it! Isn't that ridiculous?

If not longer johnep.. At least the change of decriminalisation law has some back up.. Who cares about EU in UK? Just Dr Targa I reckon he gave up as well now.
