    hi all
    i'm new to this forum. i qualified recently (about a month ago)

    can anyone tell me what a truss is ??? is it fitted on males or do females get it fitted as well??

    the thought of fitting a truss is freaking me out

    Trusses usually need to be measured with the pt lying down. Thus you will need a consultation room with a couch.

    Trusses were prescribed to treat (or rather contain) a hernia, usually in males. I once witnessed an old mentor of mine measuring and fitting one. It was not a pretty sight. I really don't think you will ever be expected to do it yourself these days. Here's a bit more info from a fairly random website..
