flomax mr pom to p switch

    Hi,
Just started to read up on the new switch.. is there any guidance as how we know if the patient has seen their gp once newly started to confirm they are ok to continue ?( i.e a signed card maybe similar to an imigran card) or do we just have to take the word of the patient? I work as a locum and so other peoples experience/thoughts would be helpful..

I just went to the 'Official' Company training on this - and surprise surprise we are to take the patients word for it!! The onus is then on the patient if they have given us bogus information. Much like those buyers of Solpadeine that never take it regularly :-)

Not sure I feel happy about this, but then again is the Gp going to be really bothered unless the patients flags up any other warning signs? I am just trying to weigh up the pros/cons for the patient , as long as we are not liable in any way I suppose it's the patients decision if they suffer any problems if they lie to us.
