Thats one I've only recently heard about, so I probably over-use it, for all specials and unlicensed medication.
The company I work for has gone recently mad on endorsing, to the point I was being told off for not endorsing pack size on items for which there is only one pack size listed! I pointed this out to my non-Pharmacist manager but they insist I endorse it anyway, despite letting my colleague put through a specials script endorsed only "1x200ml"

Pack size endorsements are only required if there is more than one pack size in the Tariff.

The DNG (Discount Not Given) endorsement can be used to claim exemption from discount deduction for unlicensed medicines only. If a discount or rebate will be given, DO NOT USE THIS ENDORSEMENT, because that would be fraud. Specials suppliers give a multitude of different types of discount and rebate. Other suppliers, such as hospitals, frequently give no discount. Only use the DNG endorsement if you are sure that you will be receiving no discount.

But you can claim out of pocket expenses or handling and delivery changes on specials and named-patient basis medicines that you have to order specially.
The first 50p of which is not paid for.

Top tip is to get to know the tariff, otherwise you could be getting underpaid.

I think it's only 10p, silly rule though.

    I stand corrected sir.
I did think it was 10p, but thought that was a ridiculous amount.
In the days before computers it would cost more to pay someone to deduct 10p (Salary, NI, Pension etc).
In the days of computers, it would cost more to develop, test and maintain software to deduct 10p.
    Therefore quite silly.

my company never claimed oop expenses i told them how to do it since the multiple i worked for did it and was told we get paid by the script, i didnt know how to do end of month since it had changed in the 3mths i had been there ie red slips, they had a pct visit and they told the pharmacist they was the only pharmacy in the area not claiming oop expenses but i held my tongue and didnt say i told u so, its just like they dont claim many of the endorsements they could claim for ie limited stability, measured and fitted, etc cause there only the pharmacist and act that are allowed to endorse or think they know how to endorse

I love how you do not need to endorse, just sort it, put it in the bundle and hope that the magic payment machine comes up trumps. I wonder if they even count it, or just look at what you accepted before and just send you that price.

yep minisini i love it too but like i said above i got told after 3 yrs of doing endorsements and being one of the 2 people who actually knew how to do end of month i didnt know what i was doing so i have taken a back seat and every now and again i say u could claim such a thing on this script but falls on deaf ears, just like NCSO claims are never signed and dated so they think they are being paided 19.95 for almus gabapentin and they are just getting paided tariff price but hey i have given up trying lmao
