Don't you think it might have been polite to ask if we mind you putting a free advert for a vacency on this site, before you actually did it?

Actually, I was more concerned about the language requirement. It seems to exclude a huge proportion of possible applicants and could be viewed as discriminatory.

thanks for your reply, i see where you are coming from, and view point, but i have seen many adverts with similar wordings used before within the healthcare profession thus the word used "preferred"
but nevertheless all applicants are free to apply

Remember the person who advertised for a housekeeper and put 'Scots preferred'. Found himself up before the equality commission charged with racism.

    wow
this is turning out quite interesting...
so just to continue this topic further...
say the area the pharmacy was situated meant that you had to speak certain languages in order to work communicate effectively such as greek.. (random i know)
and in ur advert - one can't write specifics like 'prefer greek based speakers' etc
then how would you filter the person out interview?
cos a person who couldn't speak the language would not be able to communicate medical information to effectively to the patient therefore in interview if there was a person who was not "as good" pharmaceutically but could speak the language was chosen over a "A*" candidate who couldn't speak the language....

    any comments?

Just as an aside have you considered getting to touch with the schools of pharmacy in the midlands areas ? i.e de Montfort, Aston, Keele, Nottingham etc. Might be able to get someone quicker that way.
Leicester has a high Hindu/Sikh population so presumably this is what you mean by South Asian Languages.
