    Unwanted Neorecormon stock

Greetings all. I work as a locum in an independant Pharmacy in the Coventry area. Last Spring (2009) a faxed order was placed to Roche Pharamaceuticals for 4*Neorecormon 3000IU p/f syringe. This caused a misunderstanding as this product is supplied in boxes of 6 and single p/f syringes cannot be supplied other than in multiples of 6. We were sent 4 boxes*6 for a Rx calling for 4 single p/f syringes. Roche will not accept the excess stock as returns, as apparently it is against the law for them to accept fridge lines as returns. Furthermore, to complicate matters, the next month, the patient who was receiving the 3000IU syringes had their prescribed strength of Neorecormon increased to 6000IU.

So we have excess stock of Neorecormon 3000IU syringes. 3*full boxes of 6, plus one part box of 2*p/f syringe. Lot no. H6087H01, expiry 09/2010.

As this is a fair few hundred pounds worth of stock, does anyone have any ideas or advice that may lead to this stock not going to waste?

Reminds me of the time we received an order for 5,000 boxes (10 amps) of Valium amps from Crown agents. Later discovered that what the medical stores really required was 5,000 amps.
Another order from the CA was for one ton (1,000 kg) of concentrated solid extract for preparation of Liquorish Liquid Extract. Precipitated a shortage of Liquorish Extract at the time. Later discovered that original request was for one tin. Shows the perils:
    1) having uneducated staff preparing order request.
    2) Order passed through several hands and a few typos.

You should sell the stock on Rxchange at a reasonable discount off trade price........

Thanks, that's a good idea, I wasn't even aware such a service existed on The Internet.
