The thing that really bugs me is the inconsistency of it all. The first time i had one returned it was because the rx was written as a dose of 8 mega units,so i leanrt to endorse it as 9.6 which was fine for a while. Then they decided that 3 months = 42 doses unilaterally( they should have sent that one back for clarifiaction instead of underpaying).

Basically the endorsement i used for nov was the same that had been accepted many times previously
    Hi again,

If the script is badly written, there's always a risk of inconsistency- especially if your endorsement doesn't match the dm+d database.

My advice.... Don't accept any further scripts for this item unless they are clearly written with the total quantity (of 45) specified by the prescriber. Badly written scripts for items worth almost £2000.00 are not acceptable. If the doctor was at risk of losing up to £2000.00, s/he would be more careful. Do not accept any BS. You have had problems relating to payment on more than one occasion - don't let it happen again!

Yes, I think you should. You need to explain that the quantity to be dispensed must be clearly stated.... and that you will only accept prescriptions for multiples of 15. You cannot be expected to split the pack. If the doctors are unhappy with this, the patient will need to obtain their medication from the hospital pharmacy.

I'm sure you can find a nice way of saying this - you must be pleasant but firm.
