One of the great things about industry is that the offices closed from Christmas Eve until after the New Year. In fact I always took time off from 21st December and a few days after New Year. Co gave us two days, we had to give three days from annual holiday.

No, not all hospital staff have to work. Like other healthcare professionals they have a rota, which ensures patients needs are meet. This doesn't mean every pharmacy needs to be open all day, every day over the holiday season.

There may be a rota but that will generally mean they have to work another holiday. My point is that pharmacys will open as they are a business which to survive needs to make money. Otherwise it becomes a charity

Got a better idea.
Take a sofa, TV and a buffet along and have a "day off at work".
Then again, there are probably loads of rules that would stop you from doing that.

No music either - no entertainment license or one of those permit things that collects royalties.
No christmas cards - must be some copyright small print about displaying them in public.
No food - health and safety and not allowed in good dispensing practice.
No christmas wishes - might offend those of other faiths.
No sofa - will block the shop floor.
No party hat - not approved uniform.
Might as well just open a 168 hour pharmacy.

Music-we always have a radio playing somewhere as advertising to customers so not an issue. Xmas cards are fine, food shove the rules of good practice eat, no one has to know. Who will come in at xmas. Party hat, i wouldnt want to look silly anyway.
Tough s**t about xmas wishes. This really gets my goat, this is england and we celebrate xmas simple as, dont like it u know where heathrow or dover is. Sofa u cant have obviously.
As for a tv get a video ipod for xmas. i promise it is probally one of th best gadets available.
Or if all else fails go sick, no one will know, at the end of the day im rarely ill. So can go ill near xmas. May be suspicious but they cant accuse me of lying.
Anyway i dont really want to work in mainstream pharmacy, i would like to expand. However the areas i want to work in dont strop at xmas either.
