    European MRPharmS United

This Facebook group is to open a consultation on the section 4A of the Pharmacy Act 1954 (reviewed since) that prohibits those pharmacists qualified under a European diploma to be in personal control of premises in Great Britain that have been registered as a pharmacy for less than three years.

Why are you complaining only about the UK, there is Ireland as well, and I'm guessing most European countries. If there is a similar rule in your home country you should not complain about the same rule here.

It is everyones duty to complain about the UK, to complain about another country must be racist.

Its a good idea to complain just about your own country.

Pointing out otheer countries' errors required tact and diplomacy if the message is to be heard.
I suggest the use of polite questions would be a useful way, such as "Is such and such true?" or "What do you think about such and such."
Bald statementsabout other countries and/or their peoples are likely to be received badly, in most people's experience.

Is that not also your experience, John?

Not if the country is England, we are supposed just to accept it.

Don't know about other European countries but the similiar rule in Ireland has recently been removed.
Many of the pharmacists affected in Ireland were in fact Irish nationals who had qualifed in the UK, so it lead to strange situations where non-nationals who had qualifed in the Republic of Ireland had more rights than Irish citizens.

Hasn't really had much of an impact on things here. People always managed to get around the rules. People wanting to open new pharmacies were the ones affected and now nobody in their right mind would want to open a new pharmacy here.

Who says? We could be as snotty as others who don't like to be criticised, if we so choose. We cannot be accused of racism by refusing to accept criticism of our own country.

There is a distinction between allowing someone to criticise your country, and criticising theirs.
