The price has just gone up to approx 20p over drug tariff price due to shortages. If the price changes during the month do we just have to take the hit??

No Jon, fluoxetine is eligible for NCSO claims (for September) so the PPA will pay based on the price which you endorse.
You need to endorse:
NCSO, the date, your initials, the brand/manufacturer supplied.....and the invoice price. If any of these are missing the claim will not be accepted.
Alternatively, you can order Oxactin 20mg caps from Movianto (it's a Discovery line) or from your wholesaler if it's in stock. Oxactin is 10% cheaper than the DT price.

Yes D, you ring the PSNC (on 01296 432 823) if you are unable to obtain a product at or below the Drug Tariff price. They will then contact the large wholesalers to establish the extent of the problem.......and will apply to the PPA for NCSO status if appropriate.
According to the PSNC....
NCSO status only lasts until the end of the month that the application was made. If at the beginning of the following month, the problem is still not resolved, a new application for NCSO status is made.
The products currently granted NCSO status for September 2009 are as follows:
Cimetidine 200mg tablets
Cimetidine 400mg tablets
Cimetidine 800mg tablets
Fluoxetine 20mg capsules
Nizatidine 150mg capsules
NCSO claims for other items will not be accepted!
