Still looking for a business partner

    Hello again,

Just in case this is the first time you read me, I just wanted to let you know that I'm looking for a British business partner to open a pharmacy.
I live in North Yorkshire and I have been registered since 2002.
I would appreciate if you replied to me only if you know that you are interested rather than in a 'Is it really worth it?' frame of mind.

Eagerly waiting to hear from you.

Don't worry Sofia, Im not applying!

    Just some thoughts....
In the old days we would approach those nearing retirement and offer to buy them out in stages, through a partnership with an agreed annual transfer of stock.

If you fancy that, probably the best people to approach are the various agents who advertise in the journal, or perhaps place an ad in the journal yourself...

There are probably a few people who will sell a share of their business in return for having a partner taking on a more-than-management role. You need to make it clear at the places you work what's in your mind.

Or is it just a new business you are talking about?

not that i am bothereed, sensitive or interested.
you might consider the language used as it could be abused, and if challanged you would be in a big problem re discrimination. you can not use the nationality of a person to screen them out. avoid opening a can of warms on your side.

i am just not quite happy with the way this has been advertised.
    cheers

Re: Still looking for a business partner

    Sofia..

If I wanted to open a pharmacy in the UK, I would do so under my own steam. Forget partners and the like...do it yourself. If you are looking for a second source of finance, then go to a second bank. If they refuse you, go to a third. Partnerships in business very often turn out to be nothing but trouble, and are more often responsible for the demise, rather than the progression of what may have been a successful venture, had you chosen to do it yourself. You've almost opened a can of warms or two already with your 'politically incorrect' posting.

PS Just picked this up from one of your other posts...I think I'm beginning to understand.......

The first step in my plan is finding a partner, not because I need his ideas in particular, it's more 'a personal thing'.

    Purely my own thoughts.

    Fleeg.

    Hello Neil,

I was more thinking of actually applying for a new contract, but your ideas are very good indeed and I thank you for posting them.

    Hello Fleeg,

Sorry I am 'polically incorrect', not that I'm trying my hardest to sound 'lovely' either, to be honest. I should be more careful with my inadequate humourous effectively-aimed communication ways in future.

Many thanks for your views on partnerships. I easily see why many people would think so. The necessity for a British partner is of a different nature than what you mentioned and a personal one too. Thanks anyway.

What you seem to be looking for is a life partner who happens to be a pharmacist so you can run the business together, with either doing locums elsewhere when convenient. Having a husband and wife in partnership means that maternity cover built in.

Sounds a very good idea. Must be a pharmacist marriage bureau somewhere.
    good luck in your quest.

If I ever married a pharmacist I'd have to get a prenup with the strict condition of not discussing work outside of work hours.

It would be like leaving work to go home and eat tea at work! I'd be driven bloody crackers!

Good subject for a thread, Sir D! "Prenup Conditions for marrying a pharmacist"

Its the responsibility for the final check that would get me.
