    Re: Swine Flu

I am getting so fed up of patients coming in the pharmacy with a Tamiflu prescription for themselves. Particularly as I am pregnant and the latest news is this:

leave a sign on the door of the pharmacy:
for health and safety reasons, any patients with a prescription fort tamiflu/ swine flu symptoms should be resting at home and rx should be presented by a friend or relative.

not sure of any legal consequences, but your health comes 1st

Yes I've done that now I just hope it does the trick! People can be so stupid! It just goes to show a lot of these people aren't really that ill to be able to come into the pharmacy so probably don't even need the tamiflu anyway.

Yeah try and keep them out. Its people with swine flu coming in to our pharmacy for their own personal prescriptions that lead me to catch what i think was swine flu. It was only mild but you do feel like someone hit you with a hammer.

We've been told we can get one at a drop in centre on next two Thursdays. As we are a Tamiflu distribution point I think I'll take up the offer

I took half of my dispensary team down to our local surgery a week ago (The half that was registered with that surgery), and we all got a shot in the arm; slight "bruised" feeling at site of injection for 48 hours, but no other ADRs to report.
The other half of my staff are going this week to the local hospital, where they are running some "turn up & get jabbed if you qualify" sessions.
