Wales and Scotland are not in England, I am referring to England and English only. Wales for the Welsh, Scotland for the Scots, and England, oh that's for everyone.

What next: "Cornwall for the Cornish- you lot from Devon stay out!"????![]()
Ze genuine Article, present & perfect!
we branched to lots of topics under this thread, but the question remains; where the hell is Meave? he/she just posted once and probably never read all the advices given from lots of members.
There was a Cornish revolution and Monmouth also comes to mind.
The phrase '20,000 cornishmen' rings a bell somewhere in the abyss of my mind. Many a battle on Flanders fields.

Oh my Goodness! I just came back not really expecting to see any reply!
Thanks for all the advice and your time...
I think I was very angry the day I wrote that message (don't like it when I read it now!)
Anyway, I'll try and find my way out of my problems ...
by the way, as you have probabaly guessed I'm a foreigner too!![]()
is that it?
we tried to help you, the least you could do now is read the posts and answer the few questions you were asked (if possible).
maybe you could start with introducing yourself.....
oh...I didn't mean to be ungrateful! just did't want to join the argument to see when English became the international language! or things like that....
alright, I work in South West, around Bristol and want to stay here. I can't work as a locum at the moment because I'm on work permit visa and anyway I don't want to be a locum straight after pre-reg.
I'm encouraged now to see what the other companies or as you said small multiples can offer me and see if it's worth leaving Boots.
What mainly puts me off about them is the way they treat you, for example I asked for two weeks unpaid gap between finishing pre-reg and starting as pharmacist to go back to my country and they said if I go I have to work in lieu on sundays for them. Is it not mean? or am I demanding too much?
From Boots point of view you are 'demanding' too much, as they probably have a long waiting list of potential EU pharmacist employees who are gasping for your job. It could be that now is the time to hang tight, and preserve your position as it stands. Go home for the two weeks, and do the Sundays. As you should get a higher rate for a Sunday, you shouldn't have to do too many of them, and would not require unpaid leave. In all fairness to Boots, I think they have offered you a very reasonable compromise, as if you require unpaid leave for two weeks, you have clearly already used up all your paid holiday entitlement. Not much foresight on your side there...
Judging by the posts on other areas of the forum, there are many who would love to be in your shoes.
Finally, and please don't take this the wrong way, you haven't done a days work as a qualified pharmacist yet...it's a bit early to be laying down your demands. Every one of us had to start somewhere. Hold on to what you have achieved so far, and build on it. In a few years time you will not regret it.
Fleeg.
I fully agree with Fleg, it seems you are not in a good position to pick and choose, knowing that they can replace you anytime with any EU pharmacist. especially that you are on a work permit, which means if you leave them then your new employer needs to apply for your new work permit. it is just not the right time for this drama Meave. hang on for another couple of months then take 2 weeks holiday in january and visit your country.
The current circumstances = you either take it or leave it, and if you leave it, Boots will not regret it as they will get dozens to replace you.
The only concern i have if some pharmacists accept to work for pennies! that will bloody doom us all for eternity! you have an advantage of coming to this site and asking how much your fellow pharmacists are charging.
xx
