    tommee tippee dummies

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, or if it shouldn't be on here at all, but I am absolutely desperate to find some of the discontinued, soft rimmed, cherry shaped tommee tippee dummies. My grandson has been sickly since birth, and sucking gives him comfort. Unfortunately these are the only dummies he will take. We have a cupboard full of others, but he is allergic to latex, will only take the cherry shape, and anything other than the large, oval outer goes in to his mouth whole!
I have contacted Tommee Tippee, Boots, on-line chemists, and all our local retail chemists, and we are at our wits end now. I am hoping that someone, somewhere still has some stock.
We are off to Spain tomorrow for a week, and suspect it will turn in to a grand dummy hunt, but I wonder if people on this forum could check their stock?
Apologies again if this is inappropriate for the forum, but I would be most grateful for any help.

Thanks lamzee. Yes there are some on Ebay. We have already bought some from there, but they are making ridiculous amounts, and we just can't afford to keep buying! I know how helpful people can be on forums, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again.

Thanks for looking meekie, much appreciated. Unfortunately these are the new ones with the 'smiley' shaped outer, rather than the large, soft rimmed oval. Although he will suck these I have found him with the whole thing in his mouth, so they are too dangerous for him. (Poor child must have a big mouth!). We are really getting desperate as his immune system is weak, and he is ill a lot of the time, so he needs the comfort of sucking, but it seems only the discontinued TT's will do. You can still get them on Ebay, but we can't afford to keep paying that sort of money.
Thanks again, I just hope that one of you pharmacists will find some old stock in your shop.

My children never had a dummy, but from observation, teat is separate from ring. Perhaps you could replace teat only.

Could you post a link to the eBay ones you're after so we know exactly which ones they are? Are they these ones?

(Edited: They're not like these ones are they?! At that price I think I'll be eBaying any I find tucked away at the back of the shop! OMG!! )

Corner shops often have cheapy generic cherry-teat ones which might do the trick.

I remember going through this when mine were tiny and they just *had* to have certain ones, why do the companies have to keep changing them?

(Although, I know it's easy for me to say from a distance, but it might be worth just trying him with whichever ones you can get hold of at the time, kids often cope better with change than we would give them credit for!)

Thanks johnep and Part Timer. Hadn't thought about just replacing the teat. I've just had a look and they are shaped and stuck to the outer, so the new teats wouldn't fit. Shame - that was such a good idea!
    The ones one Ebay are:-

As you can see, by the time you've added p&p they are pretty expensive.

I'm so grateful for any help. Please keep looking.

Wow, the P&P is the least of your worries, they're going for up to £50 for four! Supply and demand is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

I'd definitely be trying to wean him off his expensive dummy habit and onto a cheaper version.
