On my primitive forum, they would suggest carving one to shape from, say, beech. Or could get some silicone casting compd, make a mould. Get a blacksmith to make one from stainless steel. These would have the shape but not the mouthfeel of latex.

Wow indeed - it seems loads of people are in the same position. There has been quite an outcry. TT are no help, and some very astute people are making a packet out of others misfortune! Believe me, we have tried every dummy going, and he is only allowed one when he really needs it. The ones he has now are so old they are disgusting, and we are ashamed to give him them.

I know how you feel. When I first heard that TT were discontinuing these dummies, I managed to buy 10 boxes direct from them. Unfortunately due to wear and tear, and some being lost, I now only have 3 dummies left. Am left now with the only option of weaning my daughter off her dummies, earlier than she would like. Have had a try sourcing them myself and sorry to say ebay seems to be the only place that they are available, and I'm not willing to pay the prices they are charging.

Time to make TT an offer to contract produce these dummies for you or sell the machinery to you or third party.

Just done a search, I see what you mean about an outcry, madness!

Seriously though, if a child wants comfort from a dummy that much, they *will* eventually accept an alternative.
Of course, I'm a really mean harsh mummy whose children don't usually get much of an option.

When we first hit the problem, both my daughter and I contacted TT (apparantly along with countless others). We were informed that 'the manufacturers have stopped producing them'. It seems that TT didn't actually make them.
Iwill look in to how to make them johnep. I'm pretty useless at most things, but it's got to be worth a shot!
I wish I had known that they were going to be discontinued, as I would have done exactly what you did, scarlet80. I'm pleased that you managed to get some for your own childs use.
Part-timer, if you're a harsh mum, I'm a wicked granny! Poor little ones, to be related to either of us
Again, all I can say is please keep searching through your drawers folks (titter ye not), there must still be one or two out there somewhere!

Off topic, I know, but I did woodwork at evening classes for a couple of years, produced a backgammon board out of wood from the local park, and from the leg of an old snooker table.

Its up in the loft now. No-one to play with!!
