Do you think it would be feasible to work as a locum for, say, 6 months of the year, and spend the other 6 months/year on one's yacht in Greece? Hypothetically speaking, of course...
If you worked for six months at five days a week (say 20 days a month for six months), that would give you a salary of around 30k if you earned on average £250 per day. So it depends on how much money you need for the other six months on the yatch!

I didn't mean about the "money"-side of things, I was enquiring more about whether any agency would put up with a locum who's only prepared to make him- or herself available for work for only half the year; I suppose in large multiples (not wanting to name anyone...). at any one time they must have at least one Phcist going on maternity leave for 6 months, and they might just need a locum for such a fixed posting...?

I used to work for 18 months and then take 6 months off travelling.

Then came kids :-(

I'm sure they would. I know a guy who comes over from Switzerland and just works the winter here, then goes home. You'd have to contact a few locum agencies to find out what the work situation is like in your area.

Hi guys

Does anyone know how much Asda pay I have just moved and there are a few around me trying to decide whether to register with them or contact the independents?

Default PPLS Rates

Worth a look to see if you are charging around the norm.

Ive got a place at Uni for pharmacy, but also pharmacology/life sciences (with possible year in industry)

Ive recently done some work experience and have decided to accept the pharmacy course... after reading this thread I'm quickly changing my mind (I'd hate to make a mistake of this scale)

my only reasons for choosing pharmacy is
1. i didn't mind the day to day job tasks (learned for the work experience, also liked the subjects pharmacy was based upon.
2, a guaranteed job - perhaps id have a better chance of a job with a non vocational degree, and go into industry?.. in really confused

So its counting pills or bunny bashing? It's a tough one, because if you read a lot of the posts on here you'll find a lot of pharmacists aren't very happy with their job, but at least we all have one. Why not try putting your post in a different section of the forum, as this thread is a bit old. You might get more answers that way.

Why is it so hard to find locum work in hastings/st.leonards on sea?! And what is the rate a hospital locum should charge...any ideas? I have just qualified and have been offered 22 pounds an hour...reasonable?
