Yes, I understand that.
I would like to know, how many pharmacist just dispense full 28 to known patients.
i believe the rules are about to change to allow 30 days supply as ES.
Laura, do you mean loaning tablets( 28-10 days supply) till you get next script? it is an illegal transaction, however it makes life easier sometimes if the patient on a drug that does not require regular monitoring(i.e a statin, or 75mg aspirin, but again missing a week supply of such drugs will not make a big difference as they provide long term protection against CVD, not short term).
What is ES??

Well, we had a patient in on Friday who had run out of thyroxine, and has had 56 off us, delivered, for the past few years. I gave her 28, and told her that when we got the script and were in her area we'd drop off the rest.
It was either that or rush another delivery to her on the monday. Sense prevailed.
