    Oxybutynin m/r

Do you leave Lyrinel 5mg m/r in its original container or remove to the glass bottle?

Leave in plastic original bottle where possible - it has a clic-loc lid & everything. We don't have glass dispensing bottles for tablets, your place sounds like a classy establishment.

it's got an aluminium foil on the top and i find it hard to tear it off. thought some patients would struggle and there's that funny looking stuff in the bottle which can be mistaken for a drug.

The top is covered in foil as you honestly state, and the other "funny looking stuff" contains silica gel which is a drying agent designed to keep the tablets dry, and stop them from absorbing moisture.

If I were your pharmacist, I would (if you asked me to) happily either remove the foil for you, or/and put the tablets in an ordinary bottle with a non child resistant lid on it.

Ask the pharmacy you use if they are happy to do this for you.

    Hope this helps.

I know that this small tube contains desiccant to protect from moisture. There’s no need to bring it to my attention, Admin. I only wanted to know what you guys do with it. Janssen wants to keep the tabs. in the original package.

Sorry - thought I was trying to help with my suggestion. Forget I said it.

Difficult to know the level of knowledge of posters on the forum. We get a lot of questions from members of the public who, if anecdote can be believed, frequently eat the dessicant and throw the tablets away

Are you really a Mrs Robinson, or an Anne Bancroft fan (as I am)

You know what DavidS, I’ve been waiting for this question (about my nick) since I joined this forum lol.
I loved the film, I loved the music (number one on Billboard Hot 100!), I loved … I better stop, too much information

Too true about the desiccant hence my question.

Thanks Admin for your contribution. Maybe I should have introduced myself some time ago. I’m a pharmacist, find my job rewarding on the whole, however there are always some buts…so glad to be here.

    Regards,
    Mrs. Robinson
