Not anymore, only use two shortliners so not really worth it. We now have a dispenser who does the price comparisons at start of each month and orders a bulk order.
One group of pharmacies where I worked used Hadley Hutt and then eclipse.
Apparently there is a facility in these to set up wholesaler preferences for each item and to even set up so the computer judges which items would be worth buying in bulk. If stock runs low of one of these items, just replacement is ordered from the daily wholesaler while a monthly order builds up in the background.
The computer can be set up to print out a suggested order for each shortline wholesaler. All this requires attention to detail.
The owner had a similar set up for OTC and employed a Saturday boy with an interest in computers to check physical stock against virtual.
Stock also adjusted while dispensing as possible. Naturally, the owner now retired as a millionaire.

Exactly so, all part of the product profile on the computer. Pharmacy manager has the facility to tie a product to a supplier. This enables orders for Pfizer products to be transmitted automatically, for example. Do not think it has the sophisticated stock control function of eclipse.
I am sure that Eclipse would be pleased to give you more complete details.

i miss Eclipse! things are way less complicated than lloyds rubbish compass one! plus the system is very very very fast compared to lloyds! you do not need to go through a long process to undo and item and dispense a new one! unlike silly lloyds system, that asks for a reason to do that.
plus it does endorse with the brand name we choose, so those dispensing do not need to ask where do we keep this brand/ or look throught the BNF.
i do really miss Eclipse! another reason is that it aint compatible with ExRPS. Used it while at Paydens pharmacy, good old days! never felt understaffed, minimum paper work, and good support from AM. at least i had the chance to meet the big boss during summer placement............
Have heard only good things re Paydens. Had we retired to Broadstairs as first intended, then would certainly have worked for them.
