why are the gphc charging £49.99 for the MEP (Medicine ethics practice)?

i understand the mep is not free anymore, but charging £49.99 for it is ridiculous. The old mep used to cost £34.99 or free for a prereg trainee. I got the pdf version of it of the latest one, so just going to use that instead and print off the most useful parts for revision.

It is not up to GPhC anymore. It is the RPSociety that sells it.

It is a bound copy that is for sale. As you say, it is downloadable for free. So what is the problem?

The RPS is an independent commercial organisation that can only survive on charging subscriptions and it's commercial operations. So it's publications are for sale and no-one has to buy them. If you can get them free by downloading that seems to be a better than fair way of behaving in my book.

I'm sure someone a while ago, possibly a pre-reg, put up a link to download the whole thing as 1MB pdf file.

I've downloaded it now - I just seemed to remember a debate about the format making it difficult. That seems to either be my poor memory or have changed. I am so part time at the moment that I cannot justify spending 2 weeks wages on renewing my membership of RPS. There is no part time category (once you no longer claim it as maternity leave).
