Sure its lactulose.

Just thought I'd throw this little titbit in - there's very little, if any, evidence supporting the use of lactulose over any other laxative in HE. Any laxative could be expected to increase the time taken for bacteria to produce ammonia, but lactulose remains the standard treatment. For exam purposes though, lactulose it is !

Some studies have shown lactulose can decrease ammonia to a greater extent than others though right. You wouldn't use dantron as that's carinogenic anyhow.
