Most OTC guides will advise you on what is and isn't safe in pregnancy/breastfeeding. Prescribing in Pregnancy (BMJ Books) has a good chapter on managing minor ailments in pregnancy.

Prescribing in pregnancy - as the name suggests, it's not an OTC guide but there's some useful info in there.
