    Help!

    Hi All,

I am doing my pre reg in community.. I was wondering if someone could advise me please. My tutor is becoming soo unapprochable and rude I am soo stress with this and not sure how to deal with this situation. Everytime i ask any pre reg related question like some drug or interaction or other she just gets all annoyed and says 'im busy i cant be answering your questions' or she wont even treat me like dispenser as she cant manage her own dispenser and get him to do any work she just puts it on me so im left with all the rubbish job and by mistake i look something up in bnf she tells me off and tells me to do that im my own time but sometimes certain things needs to be looked up at that time.. Please advice me on how to deal with this situation and also when i started i told her about my holidays as i wanted a week off in end of feb and she puts it on back of the calender and now she is pretending to be soo busy as xmas and all im worried she is going to throw the calender away and will deny my holidays and everytime i try to talk to her she just says 'oh go away im busy' in my whole life i have never met or worked with someone who is soo rude and unapporchable?? but please any of you have any approach or advice on how to deal with this situation i would greatly appriciate..

    Thanking you

All has been heard before unfortunately. Trouble is if you blow the whistle, easier to get rid of you than the pharmacist. My old dispenser said he had a cure for this type of woman. Daren't mention it on open forum.

If there is a head office, I'm guessing that there is more than one branch. Is a transfer an option?

    Re: Help!

I thought about asking for transfer and i have complained earlier in octomber so its not first time but im not sure how easy for them to transfer me to different branch? but im going for study day on next monday so i think i will speak to head office pre reg manager to see if i can get transfer but i feel they will try to sort things out in the branch first or will they transfer me if i request?

    Thanks

Was a very long thread 'concerned parent'.
Again this shows that every pre reg needs a mentor.

    Re: Help!

    Hi

I completely understand where you are coming from. I am in a similar situation to your self but my advice to you may seem a bit odd but to be honest complaining wont get you any where. My advice is just to put your head down and do it your self. You think your tutor is rude you should meet mine.I have accepted that when your working as a pre-reg you will get to do all the jobs that a pharmacist wont do as you are just an extra pare of hands. Try and teach your self. Thats is my advise. Start by reading each BNF chapter and become familar with all the common doses and drugs. Look up major interactions in bnf and try and apply your own knowlege everytime you dispense a prescription. Learn all your OTC stuff like the dos and donts. I know its hard because i am in a similar situation to your self so i just get on with it and make as less of a conversation with my tutor as i can and deal with the diffrent situations in the pharmacy myself and try and get as much counter practice as you can. Trust me no one wants to know when things are going wrong. If you have a question just post it on the forum and hopeful someone will reply and just try and make friends with other pre-regs.
