So these 2 wont be used for the june exam, how does the society expect us to learn the law

May be that's what they expect from pre-regs to learn during this year, while working. Isn't it a good thing that you don't have to read 2 books and rather focus in learning while dispensing ??

I think its ridiculous how they have changed it round for this year

well they may not be asking questions from these sources...i doubt they will make you learn the minor bullet points from these sources...could amke the exam easier as less time to flick through the 2 books
I say good they god rid of these pointless reference sources! Wish they could allow us to use the ipad version of bnf as it would really speed things up! And who doesn't have a calculator in the 21st century? Are these people from ancient times or what?
And by the way the society has nothing to do with pre-reg exams now!
the mep has a lot of things the bnf doesnt so how would you answer that. all pre-regs had to spend a lot of time understanding the tariff so how would we cope now
Have you considered the possibility of the exam changing to reflect these changes ? Yes there were lots of things in the MEP but practically they were never examined. Things like chemicals, poisons and vet scripts were always open book anyway so they didn't expect you to know these. The BNF still contains info on emergency supply and CD's, and individual monographs now have CD-1 or CD-2 to show the schedules. Anything from the MEP or DT that they will want to examine they will tell you about in due course. It's still only Oct, don't get hung up on the exam now.

”We are real. We are not glam sh*t or anything else. We are Guns N’ Roses.”
In the real world the drug tariff is online, much easier to use plus you can always phone someone like the NPA if unsure of something! They should give us this option too in the exam i think!![]()
Make sure that you have an understanding of the DT whichever part of the UK you are working in.
It really is serious if you dispense something and get the script copy returned not accepted for payment.
Gone is your professional fee and your reimbursement for the item. The prescriber is not bothered, and the patient isn't as they have got there medicine/appliance etc.
Then of course there are referred scripts - delayed payment.
Take a look at the tariff section on this forum - lots of useful tips.
Always happy to answer questions as well - we are familiar with most of the UK tariffs.
