I understand why you might see it is as an inappropriate job for a professional but personally I would just get on with it and do whatever anyone asks you to do. It will make your life easier and if you complain then you risk a reputation of 'being difficult'. Like it or not pre-reg is like being a dispenser and until you qualify that's just how it is. I found pre-re difficult for these reasons but I forced myself to just get along with everyone and do the mopping, cleanin etc. At times I just did it without being asked because it needed to be done. Even now if I the shop was empty I might clean because as responsible pharmacist I think it's important and it isn't beneath me! Never! X

    Hi Guys

Ok I'm closing this thread - I think it's getting out of hand. All I'd add is if you are a newly registered pharmacist or a pre-reg student, then please don't come across to other members of staff in a "that is beneath me" way. You'll have to get used to plenty of people looking down their noses at you in your career, so don't alienate yourself yourself from the staff as well.

When I started my first job as a pre-reg, then a pharmacist, we had cleaners in every store. Those days seem to have gone in most places and the cleaning work is now done by the staff. My attitude is I simply get on with it and help out. If yours is different then fair enough.
