    Mep 35

    Hello,

Has anyone seen the new 35th edition of the MEP ? It seems to be TOTALLY different from previous editions and after having a quick flick through, it seems to lack a lot of detail and information. Which edition of the MEP are other pre-regs reading and learning from ? I spoke to my tutor and she said to read from the most up to date version. Seems the GPhC have not told us what reference sources we will need for exam either....

I have heard that the GPhC are currently reviewing the reference sources and will be letting you know over the next couple of months The new version of the MEP seems a bit more user friendly!

I feel for you Will. Have you got a copy? My tutor just gave me her one as a quick read and she's up-to-date with it. It's totally different without a doubt. Looks really nice though. I doubt we'll need it for the exam. Seems unfair for them to require a £70 booklet of us!

£70 ? It's priced similar to previous MEP's, around the £40 mark. But that's besides the point - this is a text that you will definitely need in the exam, and therefore should be one that's provided to you. We didn't get ours til September.

£70 is the price for Associate Membership of the RPS - for which you get the MEP, the letters ARPharmS, access to the forums, money off PhP books and a subscription to the PJ - quite a good deal. If you just want the MEP it will cost you £40.

As it is published by the RPS and not the GPhC I am not sure whether it will be one of the reference sources for the Exam - look out for information in the Autumn or Spring bulletin on what the official texts will be.
