Hey I'm applying for pre reg for 2012/13 and wondering how to acquire a full list of independent pharmacies aswell as multiples and mini-corporates who are taking on pre-registration students.
I managed to obtain a list of companies participating in the scheme in Scotland. However, this is not much use to me as I'm from England, and dont wish to migrate North of the border.
I've looked throught the GphC site and can't find any information. A list of those participating in the scheme would help minimise time ringing up each pharmacy and asking if they are taking a pre-registration applicant for 2012/13.
create an account and click on NPA logo on the right hand side (community pharmacy pre-reg).
+ websites of chain pharmacies like Tesco or Sainsburrys they all should have application process coming up soon. and independents are good to call if you are interested to work in certain areas. I found my pre-reg by phoning local pharmacies and as a result it takes me 10 minutes to get to pharmacy.

You could try the search register function on the gphc website and search for training premises in your area, it will list all the premises registered to accept Pre-reg students
Good luck

There are a number of organisations that provide head office support to independents e.g. Numark. Although you wont necessarily get details of specific vacancies if you look on their website it will give you a list of your local independents and you can then contact the pharmacies directly to discuss a placement. PJ has been mentioned, you could also look on the C&D website or The Pre Reg Place. Happy hunting!
