You only get the pj if you are a member of the professional society, not the new regulatory body. We used to get it every week until the end of march when they abruptly stopped (unless you joined the RPS).

Pre-regs pay £70 and become associates of the society and that's on top of the £174 but not mandatory you will get PJ MEP and more

I received the GPhC manual yesterday at my pharmacy induction day. It is like 100 pages less than the previous year one.
Having read the thread I want to confirm that this year pre-regs will have to pay for the MEP?
At Amazon it costs £47.49 (previous versions had RRP of £35 - big rise).
So might aswell join the society for PJs and support for £70 lol?

I cannot imagine that they would force you to join the RPS to get the MEP, which is a required text for the exam. Query with your tutor or pre-reg manager.

does everyone sit the same exam paper regardless of their location? I heard you only need the BNF for the exam and the drug tariff and MEP will not be needed (during our induction event from NES) dont know if its right??

Our MEP's came around Aug/Sep last year, separate to the pre-reg manual.

There's always one guy who has a big collection of past papers, or a group of people. And that one guy who seems to know so much, whether it's clinical knowledge or where to find information Be sure to get to know them. For the useful stuff...and maybe for the friendship as well.

    Books I found useful:

Introduction to pharmaceutical calculations by Rees and Smith
Pharmaceutical calculations workbook by Rees and Smith
Registration exam questions I and II by Bukhari
Pass the Preregistration pharmacy exam by Cheung

Know any friends who are doing or have done their pre reg with a multiple? Harass them for their learning material. For all the downsides of working for them, multiples provide some pretty good practice calculation papers, clinical quizes and other stuff for their pre regs and make the effort to set up their own training days.
