Chapters after 6- is there need to know detail? I'm thinking mostly chapter 8 with cytotoxics etc, looking through the chapter for the first time today (oops) surely you can't learn this stuff?

I've only been through chapters 1-6 and 10 properly too. Only had a quick look through the rest; they can't expect us to know all the specialist stuff like cancer, right?! Also, what's everyone learning from the first chapter (poisoning etc)??

ive only started revising today so! all i know is digoxin and lithium! But im getting up early tomorrow
I dont think they will be asking too much detail really, just everyday stuff that we do also they want us to be SAFE so its the major interations that can come up in every day practice that they will want

They cannot expect you to know everything in the BNF. Much of it is additional information which in practice you would look up. Certainly should know details of the most commonly prescribed and dispensed drugs, main indications, C/I's, side effects, any appropriate monitoring and important interactions.

I've been focusing on chapter 1-6, most people on the forum seem to suggest this. The chapter on muscoskeletal and joint diseases would be good too, as would skin, and at least some of obstetrics (contraceptives, prostate, erectile dysfunction).

I've not done too much on cancer or vaccines, the MCQ questions by Bukhari and most past papers don't seem to include many closed book papers on these topics so I reckon they're mostly open book. Fingers crossed.

I would be wary of missing a lot of the bnf out, particularly chapters such as 9 and 10. Also, chap 8 is not totally irrelevant - bits on cyto side effects, intrathecal drugs and immunosuppressants such as ciclosporin and tacrolimus is worth going through.
