usual pre-reg start dates?

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone would be able to tell me if the NHS has a standard start-date for pre-reg, or if every individual pre-reg can negotiate their own start date? If there is a set start date, when (ball-park) is it usually?

What about the big multiples??

Presumably by NHS you mean hospital pre-reg specifically. NHS is not involved in setting pre-reg dates for these pre-regs nor is it involved in community pharmacy pre-regs. Usual start dates for community are around july, hospital tend to be late july/early aug. GPhC set dates by which you need to start pre-reg to be considered for entry into the following summer's exam (13th aug 2010 I think for this summer's exam and some time in nov 2010 for this sep exam.
