    Supervision?

When you do your pre-reg you are meant to be supervised to a certain degree for example if you are doing something new for the first time or dealing with OTC enquiries, but some people it seems dont know where to draw the line.

Also I have seen from previous placements that when things go wrong I somehow seem to get the blame. The alarms goes off at night, its my fault, some hardware breaks, its my fault, someone ill, its my fault, a patient passes away, its mys fault?

I mean is this what people get taught at uni or on their pre-reg? When you dont know, blame it on someone else?

I always get told off for not concentrating or working fast enough but the reason for this is that i have to watch my back as certain staff seem to 'pounce' at me or try to shove things in my back whenever i start focusing on something. Im sorry but i cant work like that.

I used to read stories on here about pre-reg who said they were being 'bullied' or made to feel like crap and were in tears on some days. But I understand how are made to feel like this.

I think what students need to is make sure they do a bit of research before they accept any pre-reg offfers. Unless the placement is allocated by your university, in which case you have someone to talk to if you have problems.

I'll be honest with you, you'd be happier washing people's windows, as being in this Pharmacy game. That is all.

    Very pro-active culchie.

Its only a year. When your finished you'll be the boss. you'll be the one responsible and running the show. No pre-reg is perfect but if your having a large amount of difficulty with your tutor if you're with a chain go to the next in command above your manager if they won't listen to reason and if you're in independent make sure to note down your issues in the 13 week reviews.

Be pro-active all you want, they will face double the heartache when they're actually qualified. Better they know now, how soul destroying modern day Community is.
