    Question about pre-reg contract

I have just received an offer to do pre-reg with a company chain, my only gripe is the references section, it says I need two employments refs and I only have one academic and one employment one. Would it suffice? I assume most companies know that students may not be able to hold jobs while they are at uni.

From what you say, you have received an offer of employment, which was, I assume, based on your CV, and interview. If your CV shows your referees as being one academic, and one from employment, they are obviously happy with that. I would submit your two referees per your CV. If they have a problem, which I doubt, they will contact you.

    Best of luck,

    Hi.

On a related note if you haven't been in full time employment in over 5 years (im a mature student in the early years of the Pharmacy degree) would one academic and one employment referee say from a 4-6 week summer placement suffice for the pre-reg place?

Just don't know how to go about that one even though there are a few years to go?

Don't see why not..that was all I had, unless they chose to delve into your employment record prior to you starting your degree. That is up to the potential employer I suppose.

Thanks. The application process did not mention any need for references nor did my interviewer ask for them. They do know my job history though, most of them being short term voluntary placements. It was more an electronic application rather than emailing your CV, which is why I am a little bit worried. I guess its just standard to ask for two refs even if they know many students may not even have had experience before going into pre-reg.

Well if I had been interviewing you, 'short term voluntary placements' would tick every box with me. However it's always a good idea to retain all contact details for your placements. That way you can provide them easily to any prospective employer.
