    Is it too late???

omg it's mid june already, and I didnt realise many pre-reg application close already as we were not warned.... (not an excuse....XD)

Our placement coordinator suggested us to apply as much as possble. But...How much is enough? 5? 10? So far, I have applied rowland, tesco, sainsbury, Llodys. Closing date for most of the community pharmacy is by the end of the month(some have closed), and I am going away from 26th June onward, therefore only few days left.

I want to work in pharmacy around Reading area, but seem not have much choice.. Personally I want to work in hospital, but it seems hopeless as I cannot even get a summer placement.

Can you give me more information on pharmacy requiring pre-reg on 2011-2012?

Oh dear. This will become a common story. Increasingly desperate would be pre regs unable to find a place and coming to us. We cannot help as vast majority of members are employees, not employers. Be prepared for a deluge of hopefuls.
Problem also bad in USA for interns(pre regs).

Yeah it is really becoming bad. I had big problems myself for my pre-reg, had no previous experience with any multiple, and scotland had just joined the NES pre-reg system. Which basically meant you were directly competing against other students, and were placed in a table of rankings, after submitting an application, sitting 1 small exam and doing 1 interview. I was left with no-preg in Scotland despite there being 160 jobs in their bank (although of course there were more students). However, I did manage to get a pre-reg eventually elsewhere in the UK (AFTER graduation), so don't give up hope, you're nowhere near too late.

*sign of relief* It must be terrifying not getting a pre-reg until AFTER graduation. *touchwood* I would not experience that. Is the case in England better?
I did summer placement with Boots for the last two years, hope it's gonna be some top up~

Everyone saying different thing to me, some say it's difficult to get a place, some say very easy. someone say the bottomline is you will have a job at the end... and they are all within the same graduating year...
