Anyone ever re-sat dispensing exam while doing pre preg?

The title is kind of self explanatory. Anyone here ever had to resit this exam later on?

How do employers deal with pre reg students who've passed everything but need to resit this class?

I'm asking because I've just had a resit and not feeling too confident about it, pretty good at everything else e.g. pharmacology, clinical stuff; but dispensing really gets me. What are people's thoughts on having a late graduation? I'm trying not to get too upset, after all it's a formality and getting there in the end is what counts.

I failed dispensing at part 1 (Taken at end of two years) I forgot re density when making Tolu syrup and followed the BPC in trying to make Soap Liniment. Passed everything else. Told I would have to resit pharmaceutics, but would have to wait until following year. Of course my grant was cut off immediately and my father had to find the fees for the next year, £50 in those days. I sat Ph.C at Christmas 1956 and passed. At future dispensing classes I would hang my Reg cert up above the bench. I then passed pharmaceutics with ease in summer 1957 and was able to enter year three and have my grant restored. Saturday locums in a pharmacy in a jewish area (Bethnal Green) gave me a quiet life and I was able to revise all afternoon, and get paid. if I had not been living at home would have dropped out of uni.
An overseas student Mohn Patel from South Africa, failed chemistry, but was able to carry along with his final year doing pharmacognosy and pharmaceutics.
I found this out too late to allow me to carry pharmaceutics.
So, I took four years in all. I would have left after getting the Ph.C. but this would then have meant being called up for National Service. I was not supposed to work, but reasoned that any inspector would not be working weekends and used to work Sundays at BTC at Aldgate. As I had already completed two year apprenticeship, no pre reg applied.

Is the system slightly different in Britain compared to NI? I was under the impression that all compulsory components had to be passed (ie you had obained the MPHARM degree) as a prerequisite to undertaking the pre reg year

I also thought that passing the dispensing exam during the degree was a pre-requisite for entry into the final year (presumably most unis have the exam in the third yr) and so you couldn't pass the degree without passing this element ?

As far as I am aware, you can't do pre-reg till you finish all components within the course and obtain the degree.

Bit of a late comment but I've been awarded the degree, will be graduating next week. Thanks for the replies anyhow.
