My review is coming up in 2 week and i have no tutor...what do i do?

Hi. I work in an independent community pharmacy and am in my Sixth month now. I have been sent on many training days and I am used soley as a pair of cheap (free) hands, with barely no other experiences exept dispensing, checking and doing some methadone.

In my interview the job seemed much more appealing due to a lot of fabrications.

Am worried tho that if I bring it to the RPSGB attention that'll il shoot myself in the foot as it will take longer to complete my pre-reg year. What do I do? Is there anyway I can switch pre-reg half way through with no penalty on my progression along the pre-reg year or do I just deal with it and have a really really bad year?! ANy advice is welcome am all ears!


(I havnt had a tutor for the past 5 months now, had many locums, and i just got a 'txt' from my tutor sayin he is no longer my tutor as of a few months ago...yet ive still been working in the pharmacy and gettin paid...this is too dodgy...what if they cant find me a tutor soon? what do i do?

You are probably right there.

I would assume that the pharmacy superintendent of the independent pharmacy has taken over as your tutor. This may well be the owner. Its worth asking them, and checking that the relevant paperwork has been completed. Don't forget that it is extremely likely that you will be signed off without any problems, as the pharmacy will not want to draw attentiion to their own shortcomings, so take it easy, be nice, and you should be OK.

Agreed, however this reinforces my view that a mentor away from the particular pharmacy is essential. A calculation should be done at the very least every day and do not hesitate to come here for guidance. trust you have tabbed your DT and BNF.

well basically, my superintendant cannot be my tutor coz he has somethings pending against him...so like basically i have no tutor...they cant find me one...who can sign me off?

And even if i find someone who can sign me off...the new tutor needs to inform the rpsgb and the date he started tutoing me....and like...it will say i havnt had a tutor for 2 months...so like...isnt this bad? wont the society say i have to resit my whole year just coz of one cockup! oh man...

Please help me out...
