You need to add 2g of potassium chloride to a litre of sodium chloride 0.9% w/v. You have 10mL ampoules of 30% w/v potassium chloride. What volume of potassium chloride do you draw up?
30g in 100ml
30/100 *10 = 3g
3g in 10ml
3/10 = 0.3g in 1ml
2/0.3 = 6.6ml
Can anyone tell me if this answear is right?
I get 6.6ml too.
30g/100ml = 2g/X cross multiply to work out x which is 6.6.
I am assuming the addition to the sodium chloride is there to confuse us.
dunno if its right, need someone like nik to tell us.
So, I could sit and work out these calcs and give you confirmation, but will I or anyone else be there in the exam to tell you that your answers are right ? With continuous practise you'll get the self-belief and confidence in your work.

If 38% of methadone bottles in your pharmacy are blue and remaining 7750 bottles are brown. Then how many methadone bottles are blue?
619 bottles are blue?
38% of 7750 = 589. Add 589+7750 to get total amount of bottles = 8349.
8349-7750 brown = 619 blue
