Got a reponse from my MP!
Dear
Thank you for your email informing me about the problems incurred in your employment as a pharmacist and your concern about the existing legislation. I understand your view and agree with EDM 1561 which I have no hesitation in signing.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Yours sincerely

P.S who is Raj Patel?
i thought he was supposed to talk about dispensing errors, not the dispensing process.......
He did not mention that pharmacists are the only healhcare professionals who suffer prosecutaion for a single one off dispensing errors (not Drs or nurses).
To be honest, i was a bit disappointed....... expected more to come out of him. any specific reasons for interviewing Raj?

if you've ever read C+D magazine, he's always in there, owns his own pharmacy and is involved in alot of committees aswell. His pharmacy has apparently won many awards.

Got a reply today from Ruth Kelly to my letter saying that she has written to Andy Burnham and will ket me know what transpires.
I checked the signatories on the early day motion here: UK Parliament - Early Day Motions By Details
and she isn't on it, so I wrote again in the hope that my little bit of chivvying might have some effect.
We'll see.
If any of you are having similar difficulties, here is a copy of the letter I sent to RK: its not perfect, but might serve as a draft.
Dear Ruth Kelly,
Thank you for your reply to my earlier letter, your ref GM.HoC dated June 27th 2009, a copy of which is at the bottom of this letter for your convenience.
I notice that despite your supportive letter, you have not signed the early day motion (No 1561) which would benefit greatly from your support, and allow this matter to be aired more urgently.
I hope that if the reply from Andy Burnham to your letter is unsatisfactory in terms of urgency and direction, you will give further consideration to giving your support to this motion, important in taking patient safety in the NHS forward.
....just my opinion
