Lord Browne's Tuition fees increase plan

    Hello,

I'm a Canadian student planning to study Pharmacy in UK starting next year. I've heard about this tuition fees increase plan, and i'm a little concerned.
Just to give an idea of what's going on, i'll post a link
BBC News - Students could face £9,000 fees

Basically, the proposed plan states that there will be a HUGE increase in tuition for the domestic UK students (upto 9,000 pounds a year).

My question/concern is, would this also affect the international students? This is a big concern, because i certainly don't wanna end up paying 25,000 pounds a year.

How likely is it that this plan goes through anyway? Any information on this would be appreciated.

from the sounds of it, its likely the prices will go up to £9k, as funding to unis is being cut so they need to make the money somewhere.....

i wousln't ahve thought they would change international fees....they are already high enough as it is...when i studied..internationals paid £10k...not sure of the rest was supported by their respective governments.....

Changes apply to UK students only, hence all the fuss from UK students. Universities will be free to carry on charging whatever they like for international students. If it did apply how would they track you down once you've graduated ?
