No, I am ashamed, but it was just that impossible for me as youngster to get to 'lowry country' as a bit far on my bike and as I had been told was always raining, the West Country and IOW were much more attractive. Have managed to visit Scotland twice since I first ventured upto Edinburgh to take Ph.C practicals at Moat Place. As for Wales, used to do a regular run to Swansea to catch night ferry to Cork but have never had a proper holiday there. Went once in 1960 with my wife on a Lambretta to Chepstow but only stayed one night, then scurried back to England to visit Symonds Yat. We just managed to keep ahead of the rain that owen glendower had sent after us as revenge. What I would like to do is go up Snowdon on the train, suddenly it would appear so many things not done and so little time in which to do them. One of my old student friends, ex production director for BTC and now living in Stirling told me he spent three months after uni, motor biking from lands End to John O Groats. johnep

Hello everyone! I've just discovered this forum and think that its great. As the username suggests, I'm a band 6 pharmacist at a District General Hospital. I'm coming up on two years post qualification this July. As well as hospital, I do the odd community locum, mainly in Boots. Outside of pharmacy, I've just bought a new flat - so I'm doing that up. Also do (well, try to do would be more accurate!) Ballroom and latin dancing. You can always tell if we've been as my girlfriend is usually limping afterwards! Band6

As all the ladies on this forum are addicted to strictly come dancing, you will be very welcome. How about a utube video of you and your partner in action. (dancing I mean). johnep

Band 6 = basic grade. I think that I'm the equivalent of the old B/C grades. Basically, dogsbody. Mixture of ward work and dispensary. A bit odd where I am at the momement - I'm the only pharmacist in the hospital! A district hospital with two care of the elderly wards, one rehab unit, one acute psychiatric unit, two psychogeriatric wards, outpatients, minor injuries department... and then there's the outside units. Good for experience, I must say!!! It only works because I have such a good team working with me - One ward based clinical pharmacy tech, two pharmacy tech's in the dispensary plus two or three assistants. The weirdest thing is having a band 7 pharmacy tech visit every so often. It would be fair to say that we clash...

Hello Eveyone, I am YJ from TAIWAN. Could anybody advise me on below situation? I have been proved by the adjudicating commeittee meeting to apply for a OSPAP course in UK since 2006. Unfortunately, I was unable to secure a position to start this course in September 2006. Meanwhile, I received a PhD offer from Glasgow University and now I am doing my PhD in Glasgow, which will not be finished until September 2009. I notice that the deadline for applying OSPAP course is September 2008. What shall I do in order to secure the opportunity with OSPAP? If I have to re-apply, do I have to show a new set of IELTS results? Since I have achieved english requirements for OSPAP and have been doing a PhD degree in UK since then, would it be possible that the requirement of a new set of IELTS results becomes unnecessary? Cordially YJ
