The place you input this is under the Item Details section accessible from one of the drop down menus on the main screen. You select the product you wish to tag, take care because the list will detail all products matching your search criteria from ALL wholesalers. You will then receive a tabbed dialog box with lots of options where you can input things like current stock, change order method, colour and shape of tablet/capsule etc. Choose the Notes tab, input the text you wish to add, then save as you would normally (e.g. press control key, and choose the Save option) Now test by labelling a dummy patient. You will know if its worked because there will be an icon of a notepad/exercise book type thing next to the selected pack size and brand of the drug you edited. Hope this helps! |

Hi I am new here. I found the site as a link from Linnear's site. I contribute to Locum voice although as a proprietor I do only a few locums. but I have been asked to do some on a Sunday for a major supermarket chain and I think I should do so to see for myself. I also work as a prescribing pharmacist. I have been known to contribute to private Rx. Pharmacy has been very good to me although I haven't always enjoyed it. I think that even though the present is fraught with danger it is also the most exciting time there has been in my 30 years on the register. I passionately believe that profession leaders can say anything they want but that they must be able to carry with them the grass roots employee and locum pharmacists. Enhanced services will not happen if employees and locums (the largest proportion of the register) are not consulted, engaged and motivated. The treatment of employee pharmacists in the supermarkets is a disgrace and the superintendents should be up before the statutory committee, not just for their sins of omission but for the wounds they are inflicting on community pharmacy itself. I am sure I will get the opportunity to elaborate on that in the coming weeks! I am a football fan and watch a premier league game every week. I also am an amateur musician. I am divorced with two daughters, one of whom is a pharmacy technician. I don't believe the tosh about global warming and drive fast cars with big engines. I also like drinking wine and going abroad to drink it there. |

Upsets? Moi? I think some people are only happy when they can use their imaginations to engineer a slight. Others are so addicted to the sound of their own voices that they get upset when someone disagrees with them. Myself I have enjoyed your contributions to other sites. Best wishes |

Hello there! I'm Boogaloo, Been working at my local pharmacy since 2002 on the counter and am just starting out in the dispensary this month. Fingers crossed I'm being put onto the in branch nvq level 3 in pharmacy services so I can actually learn about the meds and not just how to use a computer system!!! (not that I'm finding that stuff uninteresting :P) I keep looking things up online so i don't look dumb at work and thought the forum would be a good place to start =) Is there anywhere I can learn about all the special codes on scripts for example? Thanks Boogie x |

If you mean dosage codes, these go back to when all scripts were written in Latin to keep the pt in the dark about what they might be getting. Eg pil panis = Bread pills ie a placebo. Therefore: od = each day, bd (bis die)= twice a day, tds or tid(ter in die sumendum)= three times a day, qd(quatre die)=four times a day, prn (pro re nata) = when required. n(nocte)= night, sos (si opus sit)= when necessary, hss (horus sum sumendem) = at the hour of sleep, m (mane) = morning. You will probably find a complete list on the net somewhere. johnep |
