hi , i am a pharmacist working in Oxford area...
Hi I have posted here and there a few times over a couple of years, and have been meaning to do a proper introduction here
Im an Irish pharmacist working in Sussex. Until two years ago, I was working in community but decided to push myself out of the comfort zone and change to a more challenging position in a generics pharmaceutical company. I haven't looked back really, it has essentially fulfilled an ambition I had since 2003 when my pre-reg year took in a brief stint in a GMP QA environment
My company sells mostly cardiovascular and CNS tablets
I still offer a locumming service on Saturdays and some holidays. Opportunities are a bit thin in the southeast I've always found, but once a slot is booked and the extra income comes in, I also have the backing of my industry employer who sees the endeavour as good opportunity for market research
In my spare time, with my knowledge of musical theory from age 8 to 30 I still do the worst impression of a funky bass player
Hi all,
I'm a community pharmacist living & working in Central Scotland, I co-founded (in 2000) & co-own the Right Medicine Pharmacy independent group (branches across Central Scotland) and as well as working in one of our branches I'm the Head of Professional Standards for the company. I trained at Cardiff Uni, did pre-reg for a small multiple in Bristol then the random pharmacy winds blew me up to Scotland where myself and a colleague bought a very small pharmacy & the rest, as they say, is history!
I'm married & have two great kids, boys aged 4 & 5. They keep me busy when I'm not busy being a workaholic pharmacist and due to them I have a great affection for pre-school telly, Sooty being a particular favorite...izzy whizzy let's get busy! Am also partial to a bit of Bob the Builder & Postman Pat.
On a more serious note, I'm currently running for election to the RPS Scottish Pharmacy Board and have set up a separate thread in the RPS section of this site if anyone wishes to pose a question relevant to the RPS and/or pharmacy practice in Scotland. I'll do my best to answer & inform on my views. I'm passionate about my profession & generally take a positive approach to the various woes that we pharmacists have to endure, a hopeless optimist & proud, that's me.
Kind Regards, Jonathan Burton
