Re: Introduce Yourself !!!

I'm a fifth year pharmacy student in France and i 'm here to find some informations about UK publicity ( advertising) guidelines for my study case.
I know that uk is part of europe and consequently the guidelines are the same in uk or in france but I am not really sure that why I ask

Re: Introduce Yourself !!!
Advertising of OTC (over the counter) to the public or advertising of prescribed medicines to doctors etc, or both?

Re: Introduce Yourself !!!
Google ABPI (Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry). They police the advertising and will probably have a set of guidelines plus reports where companies have transgressed.

Re: Introduce Yourself !!!
Hi everyone,
I qualified in 2005 and graduated from King's College London. Spent some time locuming, worked as a pharmacy manager for one of the chains then moved into regulation. Things have changed and now I am back to locuming.
I've been through the forum and I'm really impressed with the advice and pointers people give. I've picked up some myself. I'm back to ask for information but thought I should give an intro to myslef first.
All the best :-)

Re: Introduce Yourself !!!
Hi Jay,
Used to visit E Africa when in export. I sold a range of vitamins and amino acids as animal feed supplements. While in Kenya, I discovered that 'Kikuyu' eggs prized for their dark yolks whereas battery eggs were a bit anaemic looking. This is because the variety of maize is white so no carotenes to colour the yolks. I sold carophyll range of carotenoids to adjust the colour to whatever you wanted using layer diets. Chickens in UK are white ( fed mainly on wheat) whereas Loue chickens from France are fed on yellow maize and are yellow. Carophlls could be added to poutry diets.
Not much of a market in E Africa for straight vitamins as few compounders, and concentrates supplied from Europe as a way of getting money out of the country.
However, had some success with injectable Vit compound of A,D, and E. --Rovisol.
Once visited a pig farm in Zambia where they were processing for Bacon. On the other side of the thin partition could hear the pigs meeting their end.
Do you have any nutritional problems?
