Please could anyone recommend any helpful textbooks to see me through this course. I haven't even thought about Biology or Chemistry since I was at school and that was quite a while ago!!
Hi there
For your first year, assuming you are doing your underpinning knowledge bit first, you will find the BNF handy if there's a copy around. A medical dictionary can sometimes help but just borrow one. Save your student pennies and use google for stuff you aren't sure about such as biology and chemistry. In your second year, BNF, Drug Tariff(yawn) and MEP will help. Hope you have fun and don't forget "evidence, evidence, evidence"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi there, ive almost finished the course and the text books i used depending on it being a module or unit are as follows - BNF, Drug Tariff, MEP, the SOPs, signposting leaflets (all of these you can obtain from work) then at home i used the internet and two books which i brought off of amazon which were relativly cheap - BMA concise guide to medicines and drugs & BMA illustrated medical dictionary, these have been the most help when doing the modules & case studies, but dont worry as without them im sure you can find the help online.. If u need any help dont be afraid to ask, good luck x
Know the feeling I m in the same boat, am up to module 7 I've managed so far with the internet and a little help from my sons revision book for gcse double science
im the same as well i don't get any study in work there's not enough staff and ive to do it all at home which is hard because telly and friends takes over a bit and its hard to juggle both im not going to give up on this as there are alot of perks of doing this course more money and propably travelling aswell.Dont give up!
It is a hard course to fit in amongst everything else we all have to do but it is well worth it. If, however you are struggling because of lack of support or you just need pointing in the right direction without being told the answers verbatim (which we will not be doing on this site as it doesn't help anyone), then PM me and we'll do what ever can be done to support the students.
