    inverted funnel??

Hi I'm really struggling with this question. Its asking me for an example of an inverted funnel question that I might have asked in pharmacy this week but we cant think of one. Its very vague and I feel like giving up. Please help?? I have googled it and searched on here but still cant think of what to put.
I would be very grateful for any help. This module is already late in being sent off due to illness and xmas.
    Thanks Carol

Presumably a question with large range of answers: Eg 'What is your opinion on?' Remember Google is your friend, took all of two seconds

Just had a look. That's a great website. Quite handy for future projects hopefully. The inverted funnel question thing in relation to pharmacy, as far as I can make out, should be related to very specific questions to a topic at first but then as the conversation progresses, the questions become more general. I asked my hubby who does all this management speak etc but he looked at me like i'd gone mad....obviously inverted funnel isn't that well known.
CraftyCaz....have a look at Johnep's website suggestion and re-google things. I'm sure it will help you....

Like dizzy I'd never heard of an inverted funnel question until now, and I've been a pharmacist for a long, long time.

Some people like to take something very simple (like 'a question with a lot of possible answers') that just about anybody can understand and turn it into something that sounds far too complicated to even try to figure out.

You could have a person come to the pharmacy counter asking if you have anything for headaches. A headache could be caused any number of things, some trivial, some serious, so you would ask questions which would eliminate some possibilities and gradually work your way down to a diagnosis that either a couple of aspirin would be the cure or that the patient has a brain tumour and should see their GP asap!

Yeah....why the hell do they do that??? It's like management speak where they use loads of long words to describe something you should only really use a couple of words for........hate that......

    Re: inverted funnel??

Have you had this before? (closed question)
Do you find they work for you ? (another closed question)
How long have you been taking them? (more open but still a limited answer)
How have your symptoms improved during this time? (Open question)

The idea is to get more open answers from the patient.
