Used to be PAL dog food....prolongs active live. All the properties of foods published in Mcance and Widdowson. Forgotten now but energy per gram of food 4,7.11? cals.
Sports drinks contain glucose. Readily available is Lucozade. However, lack of energy could be due to underlying medical problem. Hypothyroidism most common.

Carbs are the main fuel - body can also utilise fat stores and proteins stores if the body cannot get enough from carbs or fat.

Everything in moderation. Too many carbs can lead to feeling lethargic, so try to get a good balance of all food groups for best energy levels.

One of the best ways to increase your energy levels is to take more exercise, ideally outdoors. Assuming there isn't a medical reason for his tiredness, get him off the couch and out for a walk.
Adequate sleep is also important. Often when patients tell me they are tired it turns out they have a crying baby or a snoring partner rather than a medical problem.

    Dear Aunty Hibs

I exercise regularly, both indoors and out. I walk regularly, and only retire to my couch on a Sunday evening for my weekly curry allowance. My wife is currently 20 weeks pregnant, and snores profusely. (Strangely, she didn't snore at all when we met).

    Please advise.

If you think you are weary now just wait until junior arrives...
You will find out why sleep deprivation is such an effective torture weapon but babies don't sign up to the Geneva Convention so you will just have to learn to live with it.
Still it is all worth it. Hope all goes well for you both.

strangely enough lady_dispensalot is 30 weeks gone and manages to get all the bedspings and windowpanes vibrating with her snores now too, when prior to bumpsville she was as quiet as a mouse...

Just grip the sides of the mattress and relax while you can.

When junior arrives you just move from one worry to another.

My baby girl is now a bouncing 252 months old and still manages to worry the hell out of her adoring parents.
