Hi, just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction for a question i'm struggling with on training course. Have scoured MEP and internet but can't seem to locate any info other than CD requisitions.
"List the info required on a requisition for a POM if the pharmacist is to retain this order rather than make an entry in the prescription-only register".
Requisition has to be ordered in writing and include:
Date
Name, form, strength & quantity of drug
Name & address of purchaser
Purchaser's profession, trade or business
Purpose for which the drug is required
Signature
Retain the signed order for 2 years. No legal requirement to make an entry in the POM register as signed order is being retained.
Thanks very much Sleather1. I thought that was the answer, but couldnt find anything in the MEP or anywhere else to distinguish between the process when recording and process when retaining. Feel more confident about it now that youve said the same thing.
